Health
“If we are creating ourselves all the time, then it is never too late to begin creating the bodies we want instead of the ones we mistakenly assume we are stuck with.”
~Deepak Chopra
Health, as defined in part, by Merriam-Webster, is “the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit.” That is something to aspire to, because after all, if you have your health, you have everything. You could have lots of money and time on your hands, but without your health, you can’t really enjoy life, or at least not as fully as you might desire.
Are you completely happy with your state of health? Are you sleeping well? Eating healthy and nutritious foods? Exercising regularly through safe and satisfying activities? Are you free from unhealthy habits like smoking, consuming excessive amounts of alcohol or sweets, staying up too late and not allowing time for adequate rest?
Many of our unhealthy or negative behaviors are easily blamed on the demands of our modern society. But if we are really honest with ourselves, we have to admit that it is not society that is making us have “just one more” drink, or eat that chocolate cake in the wee hours of the night, or light up a cigarette to “ease your nerves.”
The interesting thing about all these habits that we adopt to help us cope, is in fact, they only masquerade as helping all the while hindering us from enjoying more healthy and satisfying lives. I think that most people understand that their habits aren’t really working for them, but they just don’t know how to stop them, or what else to do. Maybe that’s you. Maybe you’ve tried to lose weight, quit smoking, biting your nails, or cracking your knuckles. You’d love to change your behavior or nix the habit all together, but how? Maybe you’re afraid to even try because the last time you did, it didn’t turn out so well and now the habit is even stronger. And now you have an internal struggle because part of you wants to change and part of you doesn’t want to change.
That’s were hypnotherapy can help. Using different techniques, hypnotherapy helps you change your unwanted habits permanently, replacing them with positive and supportive habits. Once your true reasons behind the behavior are uncovered, your feelings about the issues related to them are altered and then the behavior is no longer desirable. In many cases, the behavior easily fades away almost as if by itself. You discover yourself feeling and acting differently, which leads to permanent and positive change.
